Our Story

Öko Caribe S.R.L., a company dedicated to the trade of agricultural products, and to cocoa in particular, was founded in April 2006. Its founders' main goal is to offer, maintain and raise the product's quality standards to meet the demands of international markets in a globalized world, while pursuing socially and environmentally responsible production that serves the needs of growers and markets alike. On these principles, we have held organic certification since 2007.

Our founders, Mr. Gualberto Acebey Torrejón and Mr. Adriano De Jesús Rodríguez, bring broad experience in the production, quality improvement and trade of organic cocoa, gained over more than 20 years of work with internationally renowned institutions across several Latin American countries.

Our cocoa growers are organised into grassroots associations, which allows us to train them efficiently, plan the harvest together and build a collection plan as a company, so that the cocoa reaches the fermentation centre in under 6 hours. This is of great importance in ensuring a good fermentation and therefore cocoa of very high quality.
